Across more than 40 years in Australia and internationally, Tom has helped establish some of the core methodologies that have become industry standard in heavy mining and civil estimating.
As a founding member, joint owner, and co-director of AES, Tom brings a wealth of knowledge and a practical, hands-on approach to the team.
Rainer Buschenhofen
Director and Senior Consultant Estimator
Rainer has worked alongside Tom as a dedicated estimator since 2007.
With two decades of experience across heavy mining, underground mining and heavy civil estimating, Rainer is known for his accuracy, honesty and detail-oriented industry knowledge — qualities that consistently deliver reliable results.
In addition to his strong estimating background, he brings valuable programming skills that add a unique and practical edge to the AES team.
Jordan Holt
Director and Senior Consultant Engineer/Estimator
Working in partnership with Tom and Rainer since 2013, Jordan is known across the mining industry for his straightforward approach and unwavering honesty.
Highly efficient and detail-focused, he brings clarity and precision to every estimate he delivers.
With his background as a Site Engineer, Jordan’s expertise is grounded in on-site experience across the Pilbara — from Karratha through Cape Lambert, Tom Price, Cape Preston, and Port Hedland — giving him a realistic, practical understanding of the work behind every model number.
